The MEP-7000 Media Player is a compact, easy-to-transport professional multi-entertainment player for DJs that inherited the basic functions and operability of Pioneer's CDJ-series turntables, like pitch control, auto BPM control, seamless loop, and more. It offers flexible audio format playback from traditional CD/CD-ROM/DVD-ROM discs to MP3/AAC files stored on various memory media formats. The 4.3 inch color LCD panel, dual area-color Organic Electroluminescence (OEL) displays, intelligent GUI, and rotary selector make it possible to efficiently search through large collections of music for the tracks you need now and perform other necessary functions in all kinds of lighting situations. The MEP-7000 player also includes Pioneer's DJS software, which is an all-in-one application for playback that enables mouse and keyboard free navigation and performance support. Speaking of performance, it has scratch jog effects - traditional, bubble, and trans - as well as digital jog effects - Jet, Roll, Wah - for more interesting live sets. It also supports control of other software, such as SERATO Scratch LIVE without the need of the control discs, works as a full MIDI controller for any MIDI-compatible PC application, and can even be used for a more interactive crowd experience like karaoke.

The MEP-7000 is one dual media player that's extremely convenient for DJs performing in an environment where space is limited and flexible media is a must, such as a cafe or bar where various events or parties are held and the DJ area isn't a full-size booth. The music system enables DJs to easily create and set up preprogrammed play lists for gigs at such times as a dinner hour set or a break.
